After a new uhd rip drive. Please help

Post by meridius »

Hi all. New to all this and find that a lot of info on here a little confusing so I am sorry in advance for some of these questions but I hope u can help.

I am Looking to buy one from a seller on here

Q1, what is the difference between all these firmware’s. ?
BW-16D1HT on Firmware version 3.10MK LibreDrive
BW-16D1HT on Firmware version 3.10
BW-16D1HT on Firmware version 3.00s
BW-16D1HT on Firmware version 3.01

Q2, does this BW-16D1HT drive rip every single UHD without any problems if not how do you rip them all

Q3, will this BW-16D1HT drive have the UHD sleep bug.

Q4, can you use other software like power dvd or otheres to watch UHD discs stright from the drive unlocked.

Q5 is it one of the fastest ripppers for UHD ? Or is there better drive than the BW-16D1HT

Q6 how good is it ripping normal Blu-ray and DVD as i have a older pionner Blu-ray reader and Phillips as I can have problems.

Q7, will i keep the frimware on 3.10 forever and should be ok to ripp future UHD. And what is the best firmware for this drive.

Q9, can i use any external caddy for this drive

Q10, i will be using windows 10 , anything i should watch out for. like the region.

Q11, is there anything i missed, lol

sorry for all the questions is just i have 3 blu-ray rippers and i dont want another one that just rips Blu-ray as i would like to spend the cash on exellent UHD ripper as i am now getting into 4k stuff.

thanks

Thanks. Why do u recommend a slim line b40un over the ASUS ?

There must be a reason for people using different firmwares as there seems to be different support for software.

Does the b40un have the sleep bug.

I just want to get the right drive off the bat.

Thanks

nah on the different firmware versions on the asus it works or it don't same for all UHD friendly drives. UHD official drives are different some firmware only works with some software.

the BU40N does not have the sleepbug
