Please Help With "Official" UHD Drive

It's been a long time, but I remember reading through a long thread in these forums where Mike Admin described an ambitious project where LibreDrive functionality would be coming soon to any official UHD drive regardless of firmware. At least I think that is what the thread was discussing. I have been waiting for that glorious day to arrive. Has there been a setback? My official UHD drive will still not rip 4K movies. At this point, do I need to flash my firmware backward or forward? Can someone help me with this daunting task? Or is firmware agnostic ripping just around the corner? Here are my drive details:

Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE WH16NS60
Revision: 1.01
Firmware Date: 2117-11-20 20:00
Drive platform: MT1959
Harware (Hardware) support: Yes
Firmware support: No
Firmware type: Original (patched version available)
Firmware version: 1.01

Thanks for your help!

You need to flash the mk version of the firmware or downgrade it to 1.00. The mk firmware is available in the custom firmware topic at the top of the libredrive forum.

Thank you for the very quick response. Do you know if the agnostic firmware project has been cancelled or simply was not possible?

Canceled for LG drives for now

Given the ease with which LG MK firmware can be flashed on these drives, there really is no reason not to flash an MK firmware and call it a day. The only difference between an MK firmware and the original OEM firmware is that the functionality LibreDrive needs and downgrade ability is restored. Nothing else is changed. The Windows tools make flashing super simple, quick, and painless. It took longer to respond to this post than it does to flash the MK firmware. :D

I just downloaded the MK firmware pack. Can someone help me with this easy way to flash an LG drive? The custom firmware thread states that detailed flashing instructions will be updated, but I don't see them anywhere.

I would just like to be certain that I've found the correct flasher to use for my LG drive. I already downloaded the MK firmware pack from the LibreDrive custom firmware thread. Is this the correct flasher?

Thanks again.

Nice. Just leave the drive on that firmware going forward. Zero need to change it. New versions are not "better".
