Hello together,
I've a question regarding my BD/UHD Drive. It is an Asus BC-12D2HT from late 2018 that I bought some years ago without knowing about this guide. But a short search showed be it might work with it.
Firmware version is 3.01, so it should be relatively easy to flash.
If I understand everything right I should use the BC-12D2HT_3.11_MK with the SDFtool Flasher.
Bootloader and everything else isn't needed and better avoided.
I would just like to be sure I understand everything correctly before I start and in the worst case brick the drive.
Correct.
Cheers :D

Hello, I've been using a WH14NS40 with WH16NS60 1.02-MK and it seems to rip fine but it fails halfway through writing BD DL. It seems like Pioneer are the best drives to get now, although they are a little pricy. I am planning to get a BDR-XS07UHD, although I am not ripping UHD now but maybe in the future.
For people who want errorless results burning BD DL discs:

That is fantastic write up and very useful information. Thanks for sharing.

Hi guys!
I am new here, so I am unsure if this is the right thread for my issue.
Recently I but the "Ju-On" Collection, where the main movie, "The Grudge," comes on a 4K ULTRA HD disk.
My BH16NS55 is not reading that specific disc, and I don't know why.
I read on that thread that on some drives, the ULTRA HD option is disabled. Is that also the case with BH16NS55? Is there any way to fix that issue?

Thanks

Your drive needs to be flashed to enable UHD reading. You can do it yourself by reading the guide on the first post in this very thread or you can purchase a ready made flasher from me or Billy.

What is the difference between BP60NB10 and BP50NB40? BP60NB10 seem to cost way more but function wise they seem to be exactly the same?

Great drive. Cross flash it to WH16NS60 1.02MK using Marty's SDFFlasher GUI tool. It's really easy and then you'll be away ripping UHDs with ease.

The BP60NB10 is an. Official UHD drive. The BP50NB40 is a standard Blu-ray drive that needs to be cross-flashed to enable UHD reading. Once cross-flashed, they are essentially the same. The only difference is that the BP50 doesn't have the aacs 2 chip, so cannot perform UHD playback via official means. (But really, no one cares about playing the discs. We just want to rip them!)

Billy's is a script that you run and mine is a GUI tool where you select your drive and click the Start button. We both charge $25.00.

So actually you will prepare the right update for my drive as a "1-click" tool?

In my signature is the link to my site. Find the "Single drive flasher" and select the firmware you want to flash to your drive. Yes, payment is via PayPal.

The recommended firmware for your NS55 is WH16NS60 1.02-MK as it's the fastest and removes the sleep bug. It only works with MakeMKV and AnyDVD software. If you use other ripping software such as DVDFAB, I suggest either WH16NS60 1.00 or NS55 1.02 firmware.
Cheers :D
