Can someone share the makeMKV command line to flash this drive to 1.03 or to 1.00. I have seen the videos but none specific for the MD-8107s-U3YC-UHD. I know it’s a LG BU40N and I’ve been told downgrading to 1.00 will work but if upgrading to 1.3 works as well that is fine. I don’t want to screw this up. I downloaded the latest MakeMKV, I have the updated .Net. My drive is running 1.02 firmware and I’m looking to play my 4K discs. Can someone help a novice work thru this. Any help is appreciated. My cd drive is drive E:

PS I feel very stupid not being able to figure this out. Thanks

good evening.

I am new to downgrade the firmware. I think that according to what I have read in this forum, my recorder that I attach a photo cannot downgrade the firmware to read and record BD XL. It is right?

A cheer.

Seeing as the date listed on the drive is two years prior to the introduction of the UHD standard, that's a good guess - the drive just isn't capable of UHD.

I just wanted to make sure I didn't want to downgrade the firmware and mess up the recorder.

All the best.

Hello, I got a BP60NB10 and I want to patch it, I downloaded the firmware from the cloud:"HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP60NB10-1.02-NM00800-212005070935.bin". But I'm not sure use encrypted firmware commands or use unencrypted firmware one, Thank you

I have updated (down graded) my Blue ray (BD-RE WH16NS40) to:-

Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE WH16NS60
Revision: 1.02
Firmware date: 2118-10-29 19:36

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.02
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

The thing is I have loaded a HD DVD into it and it comes up
No disc inserted

Any Ideas

Hardware is (pre-Oct 2015) too old to support UHD & the current FW supports LibreDrive. Best to leave it be.

I've tried reading earlier in this forum, but I just can't seem to piece together what I need to do.

I just got a BP60NB10 with 1.02 firmware and SVC: NB12.

What are the benefits of flashing the firmware on this drive, and how would I go about doing it (I see several warnings about NB12)?

Hello, forgive me if I missed the point entirely but could you kindly tell me what does the section "drives that Currently work are:" mean?

Does it mean that any of the drives listed under that section, for example BDR-XD07UHD Slim, will be able to rip 4K discs with MakeMKV out of the box and no flashing/ decrypting or whatever is necessary?

Thank you

I just purchased this same drive from microcenter admittedly thinking it was a different model #. That's my bad 100%
I'm doing a lot of reading on the forum and a lot of posts I'm reading are from 2019 so I'm curious to know what's changed in the last 2.5 - 3 years? I can see in 2019 the bp60nb10 was pretty much.... a non-starter.
So I'm hoping that it will be okay now?

I am quite new to this community, so I apologize ahead of time for asking questions from the perspective of someone just getting started and catching up on years of work here. I'll do my best to get caught up to speed! But responses would be awesome!!!

If you want to be able to rip UHD discs with your drive, flash it to BP60NB10 1.02-MK and that's it.
Cheers :D

Most likely yes. Most firmware versions for those Pioneer models are supported. Occasionally someone will have one of those models with an older (or extremely new) firmware that may need updating via Pioneer's firmware updater. You will know as soon as you try opening a disc in MakeMKV.
