Drive Not Seeing Any Disc

Hi,

Quite happily been ripping UHD discs for a while and then stopped for a few months and just started to rip a new purchase.

Weird thing is Drive will no longer acknowledge any disc in the drive.
Drive shows in windows explorer, but with disc in drive it just looks like an empty drive.

Any ideas ?

Have you tried resetting the computer? Not just a reboot - you need to get the machine to reset the hardware, which can be via the reset button (if it has one and you're adventurous), or a shutdown/power off/power on cycle.

There are times when Windows and other operating systems lose track of some hardware, and only during a reset does that connection get re-established.

Have even done a fresh install of windows.
Have 4 drives none of which are acknowledging a disc in the drive.

Sometime this can happen when you disconnect and reconnect drives. The registry gets corrupted. If you are an experience computer user you do not need to re-install your computer. If you are on windows 7 or windows ten. Check this Registry fix.

Drive showing in device manager but not doing anything you could try this.

Windows issue by resetting the UpperFilters and LowerFilters entries in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry key.

Open Regedit by holding the windows button and clicking the R button. You will see regedit above under programs. Right click and runas administrator

Regedit will open up with administrator rights.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry key.

Were you see Upperfilters or Lowfilters delete these 2 keys and restart your computer. Again you are doing this at your own risk. Worth trying instead of re-installing
