When trying to do this:
Asus BW-16D1HT on any Firmware directly to > Asus BW-16D1HT 3.10MK I get an Update Failure 4. The hard drive activity light comes on SOLID. Trying again gives "error code 1117, cannot issue command through SPT1".
Drive currently has 3.02 FW.

I flashed my ASUS BW-16D1HT and now my PC won't boot when it's plugged in. Have I bricked my drive?

Trying to downgrade my BW-16D1H-U PRO E116 to A203 or A204, but getting "Updating failure #1"

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks for the tool. I was able to flash a new BW-16D1HT right off the shelf (manufactured date April, 2023). It was on version 3.11 out of the box.

The latest version of the SDFtool Flasher has a checkbox option to flash the boot loader with the main firmware to the drive. This is useful for the newer BP50NB40 with SVC: NB52. It's also possible that other newer models may require this option later on. We will all work it out together as we go!!

For the moment, to flash the BP50NB40 SVC:NB52, using the latest SDFtool Flasher, follw the steps below:

1. Flash the drive to BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK.

Now for the crossflash:

2. Select the RECOVERY option and in the pop up, select the BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK firmware that you just flashed.
3. Select the BP60NB10 1.00-MK or BU40N 1.00 firmware in the normal drop box.
4. Click START

It sounds like you are trying to use the modified ASUS flasher. You were told to use the SDFtool Flasher.

Use the SDFtool Flasher and follow the instructions exactly as Coopervid said above.
Cheers :D
