UHD Friendly Drive and PowerDVD

Hey guys, very new to this. I was able to get a LG WH16NS40 locally and downgraded it to 1.02. The drive now reads Jurassic World 4k, and i was able to make an mkv file and watch it with MPC HC. I downloaded the trial of Powerdvd and it says it doesn't support this type of disc. Is this because it is only UHD friendly and not a real UHD drive?

I did a test with this even if you flash it to a WH16NS60 power DVD will not decrypt it because the drive has no aacs 2.0 crypto chip

Well there is playback software that can play 4k disks with uhd friendly drives vlc is one if you use the makemkv libs/dlls the only problem is the sleep bug but you can fix it by crossflasshing it to a WH16NS60

Billy,
is there any downside to flashing my WH16NS40 to the 60 firmware?

There's no upside to it at all.
(Ah, I missed his comment about fixing the sleep bug. Yea, there is that so no, there's isn't a downside)

1. Install VLC and MakeMKV
2. Go to the MakeMKV installation directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV) and copy libmmbd.dll to the VLC installation directory (usually C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC) twice
3. Rename one of these copies to libaacs.dll and the other to libbdplus.dll
4. Open MakeMKV and activate.
5. You should be able to play BDs in VLC using the Media > Open Disc... function 4k disks need menu disabled.
some people reported the 32 bit version of vlc this does not work so use the 64 bt if you have problems

this is what I got..
Blu-ray error:
This Blu-ray Disc needs a library for AACS decoding, and your system does not have it.
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'bluray:///H:/'. Check the log for details.

does your vlc directory have those 2 files renamed from the make mkv install folder
and as i said a few posts ago try the 64 bit vlc as others have had problems with the 32 bit one and this method
