I bought a BC-12D2HT in June 2016, which shows the fw version is 1.00, but it can't read UHD bluray (tested with blade runner 2049 uhd).
Can I upgrade the fw to 3.00 to make it supprot uhd read? Thanks!

When you open MakeMKV and select the drive, what does it show for the firmware date in the Info window? That usually indicates when it was manufactured, if the drive hasn't been flashed.
