Asus 3.02 firmware

Just wanted to be sure. The 3.02 firmware is the last safe firmware to use for the Asus 16HT correct? 3.03 will make the drive unfriendly?
You should search the forum or read through this thread first.pimpinonline wrote:I'm on 3.01, is there any reason to upgrade to 3.02?
I'm on 3.00 with two Asus drives and have had zero issues w/rips and speeds.pimpinonline wrote:I'm on 3.01, is there any reason to upgrade to 3.02?
This issue has already been discussed across multiple threads for some time. Including the link I provided in my post above.GadgetMan wrote:I have just received a brand new Asus BW-16D1HT drive. According to Makemkv it has firmware 3.02.
I saved the hash keys file from here (http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fi ... 8006246024) in my Makemkv data directory.
However, which ever UHD disk I try all I get is "Loading..." for about 10 seconds with the blue flashing light and a spinning disc on the drive icon and then the spinning disc disappears Makemkv says "No disc"
So far I have tried UHDs for Unforgiven, Joy, Wonderwoman and Deadpool - all of which have at least one entry in the keys file.
I have had Makemkv for a while but have never used it before, as previously I have just used handbrake with my 1080p blurays, so I could well be doing something dumb.
(I tried a bluray just to make sure that the new drive was OK and Makemkv opened that.)
The information displayed by Makemkv is as below and there is nothing in the debug log other than a line about starting the debug file.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks very much for that st4evr. I had read around a bit and thought that drives with firmware 3.02 did not have an issue but I see now that is not the case.st4evr wrote: This issue has already been discussed across multiple threads for some time. Including the link I provided in my post above.
Another example:

Damn! Looks like my new drive will be going straight in the bin.st4evr wrote:If you mean an Asus drive with firmware 1.xx, then you need to do some more reading/research:

Again, that scenario already discussed and attempted as well.
Yes, brought BW16D1HT this week from http://cclonline.com; manufactured in may 2016 with v. 3.0. Works fine.GadgetMan wrote:Damn! Looks like my new drive will be going straight in the bin.st4evr wrote:If you mean an Asus drive with firmware 1.xx, then you need to do some more reading/research:

Getting a new UHD friendly drive is more difficult than I thought.
I cannot downgrade my new drive as I don't have a spare old PC to do that.
I wonder if there is anywhere I can buy an appropriate drive from in the UK?
