I just received mine and it has the 3.0.1 firmware already installed, can anyone report if they are seeing the same and if so are you successful in using it with UHD disks? I've having an issue with Independence Day 1996 and want to make sure the drive isn't causing it.

I have this drive, MakeMKV reports mine as:
Revision: 3.00
Firmware date: 2115-11-03 11:10:
And manufacture date on the drive itself reads December 2016.

I just flashed mine back down to 3.0.0 and I'm still getting invalid key error so it must be a problem with the key, that is odd though since the UPC code is the same listed in the key database for this version.

How does one match the UPC? I haven't seen any information about that - I haven't seen UPCs posted.
I suppose it's still possible that discs with different keys are sold under the same UPC.

I also have this drive and I also can't rip this disc (and Spider-Man 2)
I can't believe it's an issue with the discs, it's got to be the drive. I'm going to buy an LG hopefully tomorrow to see if that changes things.

there is a google spreadsheet key database for uhd disks that someone shared on on another forum, it has a UPC column that matches my disk. So either the same disk is using different keys or the drive is causing issues. Hopefully we'll know soon once beatsntoons tries the lg drive.

Have you had success with any UHD disk with this drive? Which LG drive are you trying now? Let me know how it turns out.

Latest post on doom9 seems to indicate that even discs in same region (so likely same UPC) have different keys, so a new drive may not be the solution.
Happily I did some more testing today and my ASUS is still functioning flawlessly, successfully backed up (not ripped) Dark Knight Trilogy (Canadian discs), didn't time it but speed was excellent, submitted dumps, now to wait for keys to appear or Mike to support

I recently bought this player with the firmware 3.0.
So far I could copy 4 German UHD Blu Rays with it.
1.Lucy
2.Oblivion
3.Pan
4.Arrival
For my other 40 films, there is still no key.

The main question for me is just is the drive ok?
My LG BH 16NS40 did not recognize the UHD and therefore could not read the disc.
The ASUS BW-16D1HT recognizes the disc and I can also copy it, but just encrypted.
Does that mean that the drive (HW & FW) is okay and the "error" is somewhere else?
