Reuse enclosure from Asus BW-16D1X-U

Post by uid000 » Wed Mar 23, 2022 5:36 pm

I've got an Asus BW-16D1X-U which, as we all know, isn't UHD compatible. If I get one of the UHD-friendly internal drives, I'd like to re-use that enclosure rather than buying a new one.

Assuming the new drive physically fits, would there be any problem with firmware flashing, UHD ripping, or anything else? Would the old enclosure prevent the drive from being recognized as UHD compatible?

Cheers

Some actually are UHD capable now they changed the drive again what your drive info.
But yes you can reuse the case
Buy a UHD drive from the guide and how to video maker: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=17831

Great, thanks for the advice.

How can I tell if the drive is UHD capable? Do I need to physically look at the internal drive?
