Questions on Pioneer BDR-UD04D

#1 Post by kyw504100 » Fri Jan 23, 2026 1:22 pm

Hi everyone,

I am new to makemkv and I just purchased a Pioneer BDR-UD04D from AliExpress.

The drive should be able to read UHD discs and LibreDrive ready as I seen other's drive work as well, and the drive is listed on the SDF.bin

But when I open makemkv, no LibreDrive information is shown.

The drive is connected to the PC via a USB3.0 enclosure, and can rip normal Blu-ray and DVD discs normally but unfortunately I currently don't have any UHD discs on hand to test.

Am I doing something wrong or I need to patch the drive?

Thanks!

The D at the end is sus
Likly a fake unless case is just messing up libre drive info
Try direct data or one of the approved adapters in the guide
Buy a drive from the guide and video maker: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=17831

Thanks for the suggestion.

A quick update here,

I ordered a SATA 15pin to 7pin power cable and connect the drive directly to the PC,

and everything seems normal now.

So your speculation is correct, the case is messing up the drive info.

Anyway, is the drive ready to rip UHD discs?

Thanks again!
