Pioneer bdr 209 and Pioneer bdr 209m

#1 Post by cashkey1 » Sat Oct 26, 2024 3:49 am

hi, i have both these Pioneer drives.
wondering if i could crossflash it both to a different model so as to gain the uhd capability.
at the moment its both on official pioneer firmware 1.33
i downloaded dvrtool and dvrflash, but i really have no idea about using the "Cmd" tool.
what are the options to upgrade both these drives? can someone please help me? thanks in advance.

What does MakeMKV say about it's capabilities? A key is what firmware date it currently has. FW on or after 12/22/2022 is a no-go, as the drive is locked by Pioneer.

You need to post your Makemkv info for both drives. Especially I need to see Drive platform for both drives.

doesn't matter whatever word is behind the description of the 209 drives u have.
all will be flashed to the general s11 drives.
meaning they will become 211 drives. no more 209 drives!
209 to 211. simple as that.
yippee!!!

Thanks Yethidran,
so i can use DVRflash 2.75 with the force flash to change from current firmware(209 1.34) to 211 firmware ?
presume have to use the -ff command and flash with fw1.53 (as fw1.54 turns off libre and UHD), is that right? or should i be using a different firmware?

i got them flashed with help from the helpful people here in makemkv.
i do not know how to use -ff command stuff sadly.
it all comes in a neat package called bdrflash with pdf instructions.
do get intouch with billycar11 or martymcnuts or coopervid.
