I just recently purchased a (s/h) BU40N (MakeMKV reports “hp HLDS BDRE BU40N 727CS0046864” as the source while ripping) installed internally. It appears to be working out the box to rip UHD Blu-ray (i’ve successfully ripped Murder on the Orient Express so far).
Should I update the firmware, and if so, do I just use the “GUI SDF tool” from viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896 and use the BU40N 1.03MK firmware?
