ASUS BC-12D2HT bricked - somebody got firmware 1.0?

#1 Post by ubunonymount » Fri Nov 04, 2022 3:41 pm

Hello,

I have bricked my ASUS BC-12D2HT.
Yes, I know I should have read the forum more carefully, but now I did it.
I flashed firmware 3.X to a MT1939 Chip.

And yes, I didn't do a backup before.
So, basically my bluray drive is now bricked, doesn't light up, doesn't do anything.

So, what I am asking you:
Does anyone have a original ASUS BC-12D2HT (pre 2015) firmware v.1.0 ?
Can anyone provide me with a link where I can download the original .bin file?

Because ASUS doesn't offer any firmware 1.0 images on there website.
They only offer 3.11 firmware and not as image, but as installer-executable.

Thank you very much!

What a pity! You should have read CAREFULLY. However, I suggested to Billy to put up a much bigger "stop sign".

See recovery section of guide you don't need a backup from sdftool you can use the lg or asus old firmware.

I'll put a bigger sign but I don't think it's actually going to help there's already like 5 warnings in there
Also Mt 1959 is not the end all safe there a few very rare drives that will still die with the I know of 1 model and there maybe more
Buy a UHD drive from the guide and how to video maker: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=17831

At the bottom of the first post is the BW-16D1HT 1.01 firmware. You should be able to use that.
Cheers :D
