Error Code 39 with LG WH16NS40 FW 1.02 in Windows [FIXED]

#1 Post by lockdown571 » Wed Jul 18, 2018 5:45 pm

So I was able to successfully downgrade my LG WH16NS40 from FW 1.03 to 1.02 thanks to TeddyRaspin's guide. The drive definitely works now because I was able to rip a UHD with MakeMKV on my Mac. Unfortunately I'm having an annoying problem on my Windows machine. MakeMKV says "can't find any usable optical drives." In Windows device manager I see the device but it has an exclamation mark next to it and says:

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. The signing certificate for this file has been revoked."

Any ideas? Anyone else encounter this?

Edit: I was able to fix this using this guide: https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-delete- ... es-2619222

Hmm, seems odd. I purchased 2 drives at 1.03 and both rip fine on my Win 10 system. Have done 2 dozen discs already.
