UHD Drive help

Hey all, i'm quite new to the entire UHD side of MakeMKV. Up until now i've been using a trusty old DVD drive. I tried googling for all the drives recommended in the UHD flashing guide post but i can't seem to find a single one for sale? It might just be me being stupid but it feels like there are absolutely no drives out there that matches the names given in the flashing guide, they all vary slightly in product name?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The problem is that there currently are no new drives being built that do UHD; everything that is available is "old stock".

The last drives that were built by Pioneer are blocked from operating in UHD mode by their firmware if their firmware is newer than November of 2022. It's been almost 2 years since they were built at all, because the manufacturer was shut down and sold off.

Drives by LG are sold under a variety of brand names, and they almost all need firmware updates to do UHD. They are also becoming rarer to find, as they were discontinued last year.

There are a lot of vendors selling drives that may or may not work. Some are even selling drives built from components before UHD was available, claiming they're "new".
