Post by kobesolms »

Hi everyone!
A long-time fan of MakeMKV and my first post. :)

Anyway... I am reaching out to see if I can safely flash my drive for UHD ripping. Here is my information from MakeMKV. I already have everything downloaded in terms of the flashing tool and the firmware pack... I just haven't been able to see anyone else on here with the same setup. I am also having a hard time getting the latest SDF to download.

Drive Information
OS device name: K:
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1X-U
Revision: E111
Serial number: [redacted]
Firmware date: 2017-12-21
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 68

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8601
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-209
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: E111/ID76
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes

Thanks a ton in advance!

UPDATE: I manually downloaded the SDF, and that issue is resolved. (I think)

Check PM.
When I follow your instructions, it is saying "Drive and Firmware hardware types don't match."

Any suggestions?

Email me for an auto flasher that does everything for you it does not need all that user input and your not even supposed to have that version at the request of the developer...
I'm one of the few who are authorized to distribute a different version

I have a similar drive:

Drive Information
OS device name: \Device\CdRom0
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1X-U
Revision: E113
Serial number: [...]
Firmware date: 2020-07-21
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 68

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8F00
Firmware version: ID76

Since it doesn't have the MT1959 I'm a bit weary of flashing it. I thought of flashing it to `DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.10_MK` (internal). Is that correct? Or should I do something else?

Drive platform: Pioneer RS8F00
Do NOT try writing an Asus/LG firmware image to PIONEER drive!

Having pioneer hardware in that drive is unusual.

Hi, I've also bought this drive recently expecting it to be UHD compatible, I have the Pioneer RS8F00 drive platform too and can't figure out if it's safe to flash based on the posts I've already read.
