I'm sure that reliability is key to all of us, but out of the currently manufactured optical drives, which one is the most reliable? (bearing in mind that yes, of course, faults can develop and all things must eventually fail).

The short answer is a Pioneer if you can still find one. If not, something with a LG BU40N is probably the next best choice.
