Best way to connect a flashed BH16NS55 externally

Post by osvii »

Hello,

I own a BH16NS55 that I’ve already flashed (using direct SATA + power connection) and it works fine.
The problem is that my PC case doesn’t have a drive bay, so every time I want to use the drive I have to open the case and connect it manually, which is a hassle.

Since I’m in Romania, the recommended USB enclosures/SATA adapters that are guaranteed to work with optical drives (and flashing) end up being very expensive once you add shipping, VAT, and taxes.

At the moment, I’m considering two options:
This USB to SATA adapter – would it work for regular use (reading/ripping discs), given that the drive is already flashed?

SATA data + power extension cable – I could route it to the back of the case, but it would look messy. Maybe I could 3D-print or improvise an enclosure for it.

What would you suggest in this situation?

Most likely the one from vinted will not work with optical drives. Get this one from Amazon Germany or look for it locally.
