BD-RW BDR-S09XLT - 4kUHD discs - MakeMkV reports No Disc Inserted

Post by blurayben »

Hi Forum Users,

I have tried to self-support on this but this drive seems to get very few mentions on this forum. My suspicion is that's it's not 4K capable. MakeMKV reports LibreDrive Ready ("Enabled") but in response to inserting a 4K disc it has a good old spin and attempts to read before giving up with MakeMKV reporting "no disc inserted".

Would really appreciate an opinion - as will look for a UHD friendly alterative if not 4K capable.

Thanks

Libredrive does not make a drive 4K UHD capable. Is this model a UHD drive? If not, there's your answer.
Cheers :D

Thanks MartyMcNuts and Billycar11 .. so it's not UHD capable by default, but it could be made capable with a custom firmware flash.

Appreciate it.
