I am looking to buy an internal Pioneer drive but want to make sure its UHD capable without having to worry about cross flashing support. What internal Pioneer models should I look for?
Also, any suggestions for reputable eBay sellers, and/or things to watch out for on eBay? I am finding several eBay sellers that have Pioneer drives in stock, but I need to know about any gotchas before purchasing. I already have the flasher from Billycar11 that I used to flash a previous BDR-212 drive that I had. At this I point I just want a few more internal Pioneer drives. It seems that the sellers on this forum only have the external slim drives for sale so looking for a source to buy internal Pioneer drives. Thanks!
What Pioneer internal drives are UHD capable out of the box?

Well, we only have external models now (and these are probably the last of them too!) as there really aren't any new internal drives left in the world. You might be extremely lucky if you can find a new BDR-212V or BDR-212DBK on Amazon otherwise you would be looking at a used model.Rojma wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 3:57 pmI am looking to buy an internal Pioneer drive but want to make sure its UHD capable without having to worry about cross flashing support. Yeah, I'm seeing a lot of BDR-212DBKs from China on Ebay but I am afraid that they aren't genuine.MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 10:00 pm

Re: What Pioneer internal drives are UHD capable out of the box?
Question: Would it be possible to remove the Pioneer slim drives from their enclosures and then add it to an eclosure like the following to make it an internal drive?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0081IOSOW/
I recently got one of the Verbatim external slim drives on Amazon and it doesn't look it can be removed from the enclosure. In this case I was looking for an external drive but was thinking of buying a couple more and using the above enclosure. I would prefer Pioneer over Verbatim (LG).

If you can get the drive out, yeah probably. I think the 9.5mm drives use a slim SATA connection.Rojma wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 11:22 pmQuestion: Would it be possible to remove the Pioneer slim drives from their enclosures and then add it to an eclosure like the following to make it an internal drive?
