ASUS BH50N : Manufactured 05/15/2024 (BW-16D1X-U Blu Ray)

Post by 6ixTek »

BW-16D1X-U Blu Ray
BH50N : Manufactured May 2024
17700-00080300 (FW:A205)
Wanting to flash the firmware for UHD4K

Image

I just purchased this drive from Amazon as Blu Ray Drives are getting harder to find.
I've already removed it from the enclosure and installed into my PC. SATA etc..

Does anyone know which firmware to use.
I have download MartyMcNuts SDFTool Flasher Tool, and All You Need pack.
If I had to guess I would think (DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.10_MK.bin) would be correct?

I've never flashed an Optical drive other then manufacturer's firmware.

Thank you all very much for this forum. I've been on here reading for a couple weeks.

You could use the ASUS firmware but another option would be the LG WH16NS60 1.02-MK firmware.
Cheers :D

Thank you, gratefully appreciated. I went ahead and did the ASUS one while waiting for replies. I didn't realize my post would be held for review if I edited.
Is there any advantage to using LG WH16NS60 1.02-MK? as opposed to the ASUS_BW-16D1HT_3.10_MK?

Thanks again for the reply, and for the tool.

WH16NS60 1.02-MK reads faster and removes the sleep bug affecting UHD discs when left idle for too long after inserting.

Awesome, done. It definitely loads faster when I open MakeMKV. Instantly no waiting for status like before it would toke a few seconds.
I don't own any 4KUHD blu rays yet, but will be ordering some soon. Will test some standard blu rays tonight.

Thanks..
