Do I need to take it out of my computer to check the build date? Or is the below suggestion that it's possible always reliable? According to my records I purchased it in the second half of 2016. If this is an older drive, I'll brick it if I flash, right? Not even sure I want to rip my 4K discs but it might be handy and I already own the drive.

Is my Asus BW-16D1HT flashable?
Re: Is my Asus BW-16D1HT flashable?
I was able to successfully flash the -MK firmware and am ripping my first UHD BD right now. Thanks to everybody who worked on this. Very impressive that my 8-yo drive is able to do this.
