Post downgrade questions

Post by dcarter4 »

Hi All,

First...thank you to all of you who post helpful advice on this forum!! You guys rock!!

Because of you, I have been able to rip all of my DVD's and Blu Rays (1,400 total). I built a "Ripper" out of an old PC and installed 4 BR drives. I am now looking at my stack of 35+ UHD discs.

I was going to rip them with my Lg wh16ns60, which is currently at the latest firmware. Before I downgrade it, just a few questions:

1) Will the drive still be able to burn blank discs (with commercial software)?
2) Will I still be able to play UHD disc (watch movies) on my PC, with normal software (not VLC)?
3) If I DO downgrade it...can I upgrade it later (OEM release).

TIA!!

Have we tested whether MK 1.01 still works as an official drive? I mean, it SHOULD, but, has anyone ACTUALLY tested it?

I know 1.00 works but given that mk is a modification of the firmware I don't know if that one does. I'd try it myself but I never got powerdvd to work for uhd.
