Why am I getting this error?

C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV>makemkvcon64.exe f --all-yes -d D: rawflash enc - i C:\Users\Acer\Downloads\Downgrade Enabled Firmware V.2r\DE_LG WH16NS60_1.00.bin

Input file in raw format is required
DEBUG: Code 4280426501 at Mx=Q{%DdK23UWRSK}6/xi^l-6'?wWl*&:29397564

Command produced error code 0x8f222005

Drive
LG WH14NS40

Firmware 1.05

I am having trouble with some of the new Disney movies so I was going to try the LB WH16NS60 1.00
also you cant go directly to 1.00 you need to go to 1.02 first

Apologies if this has been clearly answered, but I’ve seen conflicting info.

The first post says that crossflashing a drive from Asus to LG (or vice-versa) may prevent the drive from burning disks. However I see other comments implying it definitely will stop it from burning disks.

I found an Asus bw-16d1ht factory refurbished for a little less than a LG wh14ns40. However it sounds like with the Asus I’ll have to choose between the sleep bug or not being able to burn disks. In that case I’ll probably spend a little more on the LG.

I'm not sure that you need the 'enc' flag. Try without that.

Ah, yes, OK. For some reason I thought he had already changed from the stock 1.05.

It might not be an ideal solution, but I managed to crossflash my 5.25" drive externally with the following cabling solution:

Ugreen SATA to USB 3.0 adapter cable + power supply
P/N: 20611
Chipset: ASMedia ASM1153E

Hello!
I'm looking to buy a brand new LG BU40N for flashing, but I've heard that newer drives may come with protections against firmware downgrading. Has anyone here ever experienced something like that with newer drives?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, totally missed that! Thanks!

So, just to make sure I understood correctly, if my LG BU40N's firmware is the 1.03 version, I'll need to sidegrade it to 1.03MK correct?
Also, since it's an UHD Official drive and not an UHD Friendly, I won't have the sleep bug right?

Hey,

I have a LG WH14NS40 Disc Rewriter. Had it for about a year and change, and use it with a janky sata to usb adapter with a 12v AC/DC adapter. I've watched probably 10 bluray discs with this. So today, I tried using it, and it did not read any discs. Which is odd. So I figured, it needed a driver update or something. Went to the LG website and updated the firmware to 1.05.

Then I fell into the MakeMKV rabbit hole.

Decided to downgrade to the WH16NS60 1.03 MK firmware. (which I think is the latest version included in the "mk-firmware-pack-20200720" zip.

Attached are screenshots of my MakeMKV details. And of my physical drive. I have a feeling I made a wrong step somewhere along the line. But I can't quite put my finger on it. Any ideas?

Also, sorry if this is the wrong section. As mentioned, I've been going back and forth through mike's and billy's videos/posts.

Thanks in Advance!

On a rare occasion I use DVDfab, if I can't get MakeMKV to work, but I have another drive that I can use, albeit, not UHD.

if you want to use it with that go to WH16NS60 1.00 and it will work with both
