ASUS BD-12D1S-U external drive with pioneer bdr-209

It's so nice that dis 2012 drive will not die just cause eol. I'm using ist an bought new Verbatim 43888 and libredrive'd it to use it directly in linux. but sadly I didn't find a way (fw) for my ASUS 12D1S-U

Is there a way to keep on using this drive on linux (libredrive) to keep it spinning?
