IT WORKED!!!! Reading a previously unreadable UHD Disk in MacOS with MakeMKV.

Going to rip it and see what happens.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

EDIT (15.02.2020):
Below is the link to the modified ASUS FW Flasher + Downgrade Enabled Firmware + the latest MK firmware pack (14/02/2020):

https://www.mediafire.com/file/b2dqunj8 ... 9.zip/file

Here is just the modified ASUS Flasher if you don't need the firmwares. Just put it in the folder with the firmwares.

ASUS_ODD_FW_Changer_(Modified) (24.08.2019).zip

Mary,

Can this link be updated to include the update pack dated 15/04/2020? I like that the ultimate guide thread was updated, but it points to this thread with an older link.

https://www.makemkv.com/download/mk-fir ... 200415.zip

Thanks for all that you do.

I just flashed my LGBU40 from 1.03 to 1.03 Mk and the 1.00. Everything went fine, works with dvdfab.

Huge thanks to Marty and everybody giving their input in this wonderful thread.

Just wanted to say thanks for the ridiculously easy firmware flasher. Just used it on a new BW-16D1HT with 2019 firmware and it worked flawlessly and with almost disturbing ease.

Is there a flashing tool specifically for the WH14NS40? I've got a guy with one that's firmware 1.04 and any firmware he throws at it results in an error 5.
I've sent him the flasher and the firmware I use on a daily basis still no dice.
It must be the drive now that I think about it but how?

My guess is he is hooked up to a USB adapter that does not support flashing or 3rd party sata controller
