Hi @coopervid, thank you for your excellent support and contribution to the forum.

I have an ASUS SBW-06D2X-U opened the enclosure and found a Pioneer BDR-UD03ASW labelled drive.

Info on MKV is as follows:
Drive Information
OS device name: E:
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: SBW-06D2X-U
Revision: 1.10
Serial number: ...
Firmware date: 2017-04-18
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 76

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: Pioneer RS8511
Firmware version: ID22

No disc inserted
Can you please support me into patching and unlocking the UHD capability please (e.g. crossflash to UD04 if possible)?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'm new here and I've literally just received a Verbatim drive today with a view to setting up a home media server.
The drive shows as a Pioneer BDR-UD03, same as the post above and won't read 4K bluerays when inserted.
Is there a patch available for this please?

I think I might actually return this.
It’s actually the Verbatim 43889 and I have just read that I would need the 43888 for 4k compatibility.

I have had a Pioneer BDR-UD03FAL sitting around, I managed to get a case for it. It looks like I need to cross flash it (to a UD04?) in order for it to read Blu-Rays?

See attached MakeMKV output, and I have a PC to do any required flashing.

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr2
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-UD03
Revision: 1.03
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2015-05-14
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 81

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8510
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.03/ID19
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes
