Each time it says the flash is successful but the Status hasn't changed to enable. Below is what the terminal output looks like (This is on a Mac mini M2). I followed the Mac flashing command instructions under the "How To Flash Videos and commands:" section on this guide.
Do I need to revert back to the original firmware (not sure where to get the from) before attempting to flash back?

He said "record" not "rip", unless he meant "rip".Billycar11 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 5:39 amnah you didnt read a UHD with thatcf1084 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 4:51 amI bought this unit and was able to record a UHD BD (so it says on the box), but I tried other movies and it doesn't read them... what can I do?

True, you said "read" but fundamentally there is no difference between "read" and "rip" since ripping requires reading. If the drive doesn't even recognise a UHD then, I concede, that it wouldn't record either.Billycar11 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 11:39 ami didnt say rip but yeah that drive will not see a UHD disc at all unless you buy it from me marty or asmcom and the drive info will not look like that at all

Here you go:zittrig wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 4:18 amShow drive information with MakeMKV.shinkiro wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 6:48 amHi guys, I just got the Buffalo Japanese drive "BRUHD-PU3" (external) but I don't know which tool or firmware to use to read UHD blu-ray discs.
Do I use the flasher on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896 or something else entirely?
I saw that "MartyMcNuts" said to use "1. HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-BU12-OM01001-211902230922.bin
2. DE_Buffalo_BRUHD-PU3_BU10 OR DE_LG_BU40N_1.00", so any of these three firmwares work?

Oh wow I guess I missed this firmware was on the encrypted list. Add enc seems to have fixed the issue. Thank you!
