So why would you flash it again with the same firmware? Doesn't make any sense...
Cheers

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
I am just trying to get it to work again as I stated in same PC setup it worked 1 year ago for dvd, Blu ray, UHD. This week nothing worked so I tried flashing it to 1.03, 1.02, 1.01, 1.00 and it said loading disc and it said no disc found in makemkv. I followed the guide in this forum for 1.03mk and it is now working for dvd and Blu ray again. But the issue is I still can't get it to recognize UHD discs as it spins them says loading then disc not found.
So I don't know if I am missing something or if another firmware is needed to make everything work correctly again?

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Hi,
I have never flashed any Blu ray optical drive, and I don't want to get a brick, so I prefere to ask before do it. I saw some videos to do it and It seems easy to do it, but can I do It in my optical drive? The model is Asus BW-16D1HT, and the information makemkv give me is this:
Información de unidad de disco
Nombre del SO del dispositivo: D:
Fabricante: ASUS
Producto: BW-16D1HT
Revisión: 3.11
Número de serie: ...
Fecha del firmware: 2120-12-01 17:59
Marcas de cifrado bus: 1F
Highest AACS version: 77
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Do I need to check another thing before flash it? The optical drive is from Augost of 2023. When I open sdftool, there are two sticks in green in MT1959 and encrypted firmware.
I think I can do it with any problem but I would like to be sure to do it.
Thanks

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
Read the UHD FAQ to begin. And occasionally skim the forum... MUCH useful info here, if one takes time to look.trooperdadon87 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 1:38 pm...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
i mean in the guide there is written:
Sleep Bug:
All UHD Friendly drives have the sleep bug, this is when a UHD disk is left idle in the drive for 2 minutes. Once the drive goes to sleep, the UHD Friendly drive will no longer be able to read the disk without opening and closing the disk tray and will make horrible seeking noises until this is done.
Sleep Bug Fix:
To fix the sleep bug on a UHD Friendly drive flash firmware from an UHD Official drive like WH16NS60 DE 1.00 or 1.01MK 1.02MK 1.03MK
can i ignore this with the patched version 1.03 or do i have to fix?

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
To the best of my knowledge, the sleep bug is not present in slim drives. Mostly an annoyance, but if you happen to leave a disc in an idle drive...
And...
Crossflashing Warnings:
1. Don't crossflash desktop drives to slim drives or the other way around
2. ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
That is for friendly drives. The BU40N is an official drive, thus no sleep bug. Also, it only effects desktop drives anyway, not slim drives.trooperdadon87 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 2:01 pmi mean in the guide there is written:

Perhaps overseen. ![😉](//twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/svg/1f609.svg)
Your drive is flashable. Flash directly to LG WH16NS60 1.02MK (no sleep bug) or ASUS 3.10MK (with sleep bug).
You'll find all information you need in the first post of this topic. Try it.![👋](//twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/svg/1f44b.svg)
