I just bought a drive on amazon... Here is what MakeMKV give me :

Code: Select all

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/sr1
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1X-U
Revision: A105
Serial number: KL7P4HJ2039
Firmware date: 2120-12-02 11:14
Bus encryption flags: 1F

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
But as soon as I put a BluRay(regular one) in the app freeze (1.18.3 linux Ubuntu 25.10). I see no way to output log additional logs.

It say LibreDrive is possible, so I would really like to get to support it ! I don't need 4k, but I guess it would be good for HD as well.

I just got a bunch of bluray for my favorite old TV show (A bit tired of the DVD quality). I just bought my first bluray drive (Hope to use it to make M-Disk backup as well for my business) ! I didn't except in 2026 to have so much issues to play simple video !

It's a LG drive. You can flash it to WH16NS60 1.02-MK which will enable libredrive and UHD compatibility. Also there can be issues with the latest version of MakeMKV on Linux. Best to use an older version. Some use v1.17.7 on Linux.
Cheers :D

Work perfectly, flash the firmware and it working perfectly ! No issue ! I had to downgrade to 1.17.7, which also seem to be working just fine ! (a few issue still (It expect a c:\ drive for some output command line)), but it totally usable. Thanks a lot !
