Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
EDIT: Sometimes I drive myself nuts. I flashed the drive some time ago and did not realize I used the "MK" bin. That was the issue. Once I re-flashed using the non "MK" bin, everything was back to normal. Ignore the stuff below...lol

First post and I registered here for this. Long time read, first time poster. Appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this guide. I used it myself several years ago when I got my drive.
So I recently discovered an issue that was not there before and I am curious if anyone else is seeing it. I have an LG BD-RE WH16NS60. Flashed to 1.02. It works flawlessly in MakeMKV, and it used to work in DVD Fab as well. Now DVD Fab tells me I have a UHD friendly drive, but need to downgrade the FW. Again, it is worth noting that it rips just fine in MakeMKV. Anyone else having issues recently with DVD Fab?

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
I'm pretty certain that NS60 1.02-MK has never worked with DVDFab as it doesn't like MK firmware. NS60 1.00 firmware does as it is an original firmware (not an MK one). If you want to use this drive with DVDFab, flash it to WH16NS60 1.00.MrDystopian wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 12:07 amFirst post and I registered here for this. Long time read, first time poster. Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
I feel like a new post needs to be made for 2024 with clearer instructions? Maybe it's just information overload for me and being led to different threads and posts that lead to another set of confusions.
Anyway, I have a LG - BP60NB10
What all do I need? From the very first post, it seems I need:
1. The firmware (I downloaded "The all you need firmware pack" - file 'HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP60NB10-1.02-NM00800-212005070935.bin')
2. The flasher - which one is it? GUI SDF tool or LG flasher + DE firmware ?
thx for clearing my head.

It says use sdf GUI and to go directly to the fw you mention does not get simpler than that.digitaltrance wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 2:58 pmI feel like a new post needs to be made for 2024 with clearer instructions? LG flashing has not changed since 2020-2021 if it were to get updated it would only get more complicated

Clear as mud even though 155 pages into the thread people are still asking questions lol. Just a joke and I do appreciate your efforts.
What is this 1.03-MK.bin file vs the other HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP60NB10-1.02-NM00800-212005070935.bin file?
I noticed the GIF image shows that you need to WRITE first, then RECOVER?

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Hi,
I recently purchased an OWC Mercury Pro 16X Blu-ray drive from Amazon and it's not working to when trying to read 4K ultra HD movies. I've flashed the drive using this firmware (HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin) but it's still not decrypting the 4K movies. Regular 1080p blu ray movies work fine but not the 4K. Any suggestions on how to get this to work? See below for the drive specs based on the info from Amazon.

I doubt it has anything to do with the enclosure. Try showing us the MakeMKV log so we can see the relevant info.d1987 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 01, 2024 4:43 pmHi,

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Email MKB20_v61_Dunkirk_DBF5.tgz to svq@makemkv.com & retry the disc periodically over the next week, or 2. When the dump has been processed & the key is available, MakeMKV should automatically update & the disc will decrypt/ rip.d1987 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 3:32 amI enabled the debug log. Thanks for the assistance. My firewall was blocking the HK from being downloaded. The drive is decrypting the UHD file now.
