Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Hello,
I am currently using the drive "archgon Star UHD External 4K-Ultra HD BD Player" to rip blu rays.
I can only rip blu-rays, but it doesn't work for 4K UHD discs at all. I will need to flash the drive.
Product details: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Archgon-Extern ... 101&sr=1-3
This is the info of the drive:
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible (with patched firmware)
Drive platform: MT1959
Harware support: Yes
Firmware support: No
Firmware type: Original (patched version available)
Firmware version: 1.02
DVD all regions: Possible (with patched firmware)
BD raw data read: Possible (with patched firmware)
BD raw metadata read: Possible (with patched firmware)
Unrestricted read speed: Possible (with patched firmware)
I downloaded a folder for firmware pack and found the following:
1) Asus 5.25 BW-16D1HT
2) LG 5.25 desktop
3) LG slim BP50NB40-NB50
4) LG slim BU40N
5) LG slim USB BP60NB10
Could someone please suggest which .bin file to use (that would ensure I can be successful with the ripping process)?
Thanks

What does the Drive Information section say? It is above the LibreDrive Information.
Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Hello i new here. I read a few page and if i understand, if i buy a PIONEER BDR-XD08UMB-S and it have the firmware v1.03, the drive just work without doing anything to it?
Thanks.
Edit
If i rip a 4k movie and remove the protection, and then burn the movie in a disk, the movie work in a PC?
Thanks.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
If you burn it right, sure. But why would you? Copy the .mkv across the network to the new PC or put the file on a USB stick and sneaker net it to the new PC.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
You need to know that everybody who wants the best quality only rips to ISO or folder to play it with an Oppo or Oppo clone. And then the mkv output is not the best solution for everybody. But burning to BDs is outdated, I agree.

What Oppo or Oppo clone is recommended. What is the least expensive?Coopervid wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 9:12 pmYou need to know that everybody who wants the best quality only rips to ISO or folder to play it with an Oppo or Oppo clone. I understand and I agree. I should be more clear in my answer. Using either the .mkv or the decrypted backup or an ISO is most likely more convenient than burning a disc.

The Oppo clone M9201 is recommended. Oppo has stopped production of Bluray players.Hellboy. wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 11:48 pmWhat Oppo or Oppo clone is recommended. What is the least expensive?
Look here or depending on your location you can also check on ebay etc. Use Google.

Usually 25GB discs are no issue with any drive. If you burn 50GB discs read this:Hellboy. wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 6:02 pmJust for knowledge, what is the correct way to burn the movie?
Thanks for the link Coopervid.

You load the BDMV and the CERTIFICATE folder in Imgburn. To reduce size if it exceeds 50GB you need commercial software like CloneBD as an example. 50GB is the limit. Only one player can handle larger discs.

Good Afternoon All,
I'm trying to flash a new LG WH16NS40 to the most recent 102 MK file. However, it does not seem to be working. I cannot see if I have all the settings set up because the app is crushed into a tiny box. I'm using Windows 11 64 bit.

No go with that method. The window completely disappears with those settings. Oh, and I realized I'm on Windows 10, not 11- if that matters....
Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2023
Interesting. Probably best addressed in SDFtool Flasher where the author might have some additional insight. I see he added the note:
NOTE: If the GUI looks a bit deformed (happens on a 4k monitor), you can right click the exe and select properties. In the compatibility tab, click "Change high DPI settings" then under "High DPI scaling override" tick the box and select "System (Enhanced)" in the dropbox.
so it might be something unique to your setup?
