BC-12D2HT on FW 3.0 LibreDrive "Possible"

Post by devonuto »

MakeMKV shows LibreDrive is possible with a patched firmware.

I have 3.0 firmware on the drive, but how do I get a Libredrive patched FW version?

This thread has a 3.11 patched version, but 3.11 is not UHD Friendly: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=19113&p=81919&hili ... 2HT#p81919

Although it does say "Possible, not yet enabled".

And the only option seems to be a backup to folder?

There is no option to choose the output type. When you backup, it just outputs as files. The icon next to it, is greyed out.

Ok, it’s very clear you need tutorials on how to use MakeMKV. There are plenty of decent text and video tutorials out there. Google is your friend. Use it.

Additionally, Libredrive is enabled by the software developer of MakeMKV as drives become supported by the app. Not all drives/firmwares are immediately supported. Depending on the drive and/or firmware for that drive, we all have to wait as support for them is added.

Thanks for your passive aggressive reply, I have been using MakeMKV for many years, but since I don't have LibreDrive, it doesn't work as it usually does for non-UHD discs. The option to rip to MKV isn't able to be used.

Code: Select all

LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Failed to open disc

Well, from the beginning of this thread you've been making incorrect assumptions and/or provided little to no information. This is an online forum, we cannot read your mind nor do we have the visibility to your problem like you do. You have to help us help you. If you would provide all the details to your problem(s) from the start, it would be easier to assist instead of us trying to blindly guess.

Now that you provide an actual error, it helps to advise better. That error has been discussed in other instances:

https://www.makemkv.com/forum/search.ph ... is+disc%22

Try some of the solutions discussed there, if not, then contact MakeMKV support directly with any of the data dump files generated, so that Mike may be able to assist further.
