100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55
Re: 100% Firmware Downgrade for ASUS BW-16D1HT and LG BH16NS55
I've had a thing going with Julia for awhile now. I know she would not be hard to replace but she treats me well and does whatever I ask, whenever I ask, so she's a keeper for now

Julia is a drive killer so many people have emailed me after doing everything right but that image bricking there drive because it decided to run a third bat file to auto config drivers and interrupting the flash. when i tested it on mine it sometimes would lockup for like 30 seconds at a time and if i left i long enough sometimes the bluray drive would disappear im sure that would kill a drive if it happened while flashing. just use this it just as easy and less risky just choose the 32 bit version and you are good https://www.aomeitech.com/pe-builder.html

I second that. It's what I used to create my image and it worked flawlessly.

Drive killer, sleep bugs, lol. I've never had a problem with Julia. Wait until all the drivers load which is an extra 20 seconds after it starts up and you're in business.

Wow! Thank You. I also used this method to downgrade a newly purchased Asus 16D1HT that was on 3.03 to 3.02 and it works flawlessly. This needs to be more widely known

Got my ASUS BW-16D1HT yesterday and had no issues downgrading to 3.02 using the steps in this thread. It was quick and painless. Thanks!

I have a Win 10 desktop computer. I have the ASUS 16D1HT with Firmware 3.03. It can be switched to IDE mode in the BIOS. I'm a bit confused about these steps? Can the downgrade for the ASUS 16D1HT only be performed on a Win 7 computer?

The Julia PE image is a hot mess. I had to just use the FreeDOS boot image that Rufus comes with and it worked flawlessly and was so much faster! Just switched to IDE mode in the bios in the machine with the LG and used a different PC to patch the exported rom.
Many thanks to this forum, it was way easier than I expected.
