Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
you can downflash , and I hope the loophole fix will be erased "fingercrossed"TeddyRaspin wrote:Could you provide us a valid link for testing the 3.03 firmware version ?barrett70 wrote:Hi, does anyone have any information about the 3.03 just released?
UHD or not?
Thanks.
Edit:
I've found it on Asus website (support page) and I've flashed it and I have to say few words:
"Be Aware from 3.03". It fixed the AACS loophole making your drive unable to read UHD discs !!!!
Now I've to use DosFlash and reflash the old firmware, with the hope it will read UHDs again.

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
I've used now my dosflash modded DOS version and I've successfully flashed the old backup firmware.
Now I can read UHD discs again.

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Was this achieved using the programs in the zip file you posted over at the Redfox forums a while back + a dump of the original firmware?TeddyRaspin wrote:I've used now my dosflash modded DOS version and I've successfully flashed the old backup firmware.

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
So 3.02 is still good but 3.03 is a killer?

I have 3.01...can anyone point me to 3.02, which I guess is the last "safe" version to use. Are people ripping UHD fine with 3.02. I'd just like to be sure.
thx

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Yes, 3.02 is the LAST firmware update you will ever take on that drive. Do NOT do anything beyond it.

Can you describe the procedure you used to crossflash your LG's?jmone wrote:I have 2 x LG WH16NS55. I've crossflashed one to 3.00 and one to 3.02. Both are ripping fine with MakeMKV. I'll do a speed comparison later on which one (if either) is faster.
