I have an LG BP55EB40 EB52 drive which I previously flashed to BP60NB10 1.02-MK using SDFtool Flasher.
For warranty purposes, I now need to flash it back to the original BP55EB40 firmware, ideally BP55EB40 1.03. Failing that, I would at least like to get it back to BP50NB40 1.03 rather than having it identify as BP60NB10.
I have tried doing this in SDFtool Flasher using both the RECOVERY as well as the WRITE option, but it does not seem to work. The process appears to complete successfully, but afterwards the drive still reports as BP60NB10 1.02.
Am I doing something wrong with the recovery procedure? I was selecting the current BP60NB10 1.02-MK firmware in the recovery popup and then BP50NB40 1.03-MK as the target. Is there a different method needed to reverse the crossflash?
Also, could anyone possibly point me to the correct BP55EB40 1.03 EB52 firmware file? I cannot seem to find it in the “All You Need” firmware pack. Even the MK version would be helpful if stock firmware is not available.
Thanks very much for any advice.
Warranty issue: Reverse BP55EB40 EB52 1.03 to BP60NB10 1.02-MK crossflash?

I found the BP55EB40-NB50-1.03 firmware in the mk firmware pack but my drive has SVC EB52 not NB50...
I also found an official BP55EB40 1.03 updater on the LG website but only for the SVC EB40 model...
Will these two still work? If so, what would the steps for SDFtool Flasher be? Do I need to use RECOVERY, select the current BP60NB10 1.02MK firmware and then the target as BP55EB40 NB50 1.03-MK? And after that just use the official updater?

Flashing to the BP55EB40-NB50-1.03 MK firmware has now worked perfectly using the recovery process in SDFtool Flasher.
Unfortunately, I can’t use the official LG firmware file you linked, as it contains version 1.01, and it won’t allow me to downgrade. Same issue with the official 1.03 updater. I basically get a message saying that if the firmware I’m trying to flash is equal to or lower than the firmware already installed, the update won’t run.
I’m wondering if there’s another way around this: From what I can see in the MakeMKV LibreDrive firmware list, there were entries for BP55EB40-NB50 1.01 and 1.02:
HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP55EB40-NB50-1.01-NM00200-211711231626
HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP55EB40-NB50-1.02-NM01801-211905031515
Does anyone happen to have the MK versions, or would you know where they can be found?
If I had one of those, I could then probably use the official LG flasher afterwards...

Thanks so much, Billy, for all your help!!
For anyone coming across this in the future, these are the steps that worked for me to restore the original factory-installed encrypted 1.03 LG firmware on a BP55EB40 with SVC code EB52.
No guarantees, of course. Use at your own risk!!
1. In SDFtool Flasher, select your drive and choose the recovery process.
2. In the current firmware pop-up, select the firmware the drive is currently on. In my case, it was BP60NB10 1.02, which I had flashed to the drive when I received it.
3. In the flasher, select the firmware to write. Go to folder 'old' in the MK firmware pack and select the BP55EB40-NB50 1.02 firmware:
https://www.makemkv.com/download/mk-fir ... 200720.zip
4. Hit START.
5. Once this has completed, you can power cycle the drive and then run the official LG 1.03 updater available on LG’s website:
https://gscs-b2c.lge.com/downloadFile?f ... OB8DptGIrg
That worked without any issues for me, and the drive is now back on the original encrypted LG 1.03 firmware.
