Good day/evening sirs, I am new and cannot send PMs, but I would like to flash my drive so that it can rip 4K BD, can anyone help me please? thanks in advance! Drive Information Manufacturer: PIONEER Product: BD-RW BDR-UD03 Revision: 1.14
It's definitely worth getting that drive updated. The UD03 is a solid performer for 4K once the LibreDrive firmware is applied. Just make sure you double-check the revision matches the flasher requirements mentioned by the experts here to avoid any issues.
Did you remove all power to drive after flashing including the USB connection?
Yes, I tried it several times, also with rebooting. The tested DVD works in my internal drive (which is not BluRay)
Most likely a power issue since these enclosures are very power hungry. Try an USB-C port , use the rear USB-C ports of a desktop or a powered USB hub.
Turns out a drive I've had laying around for years is a UD03, could I get the 4K compatable firmware as well? Also, at the risk of being a choosing beggar, is Windows still a requirement to flash the drive? I can work with that if need be, but I'd prefer to use either Linux or MacOS.
