I tried poking around on this forum but it seems like most problems are getting fixed via PM's. Can someone help me get this set up?

For Pioneer drives try cdrinfo.pl, if you ask nicely they will send you some free firmware that you can flash easily enough.sgtstrife wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 11:49 pmI had a SH216 set up thanks to this forum a few years ago. The H-U includes a stand for the enclosure, the X-U doesn't.CrashRoseRed wrote: ↑Sun Feb 15, 2026 12:11 amHello

He's just giving people another option. Given the cost of the drives now, not having to pay another USD40 on top would appeal.zittrig wrote: ↑Sun Feb 15, 2026 6:50 amThen please go back to cdrinfo.pl and leave us alone with your "smart" advices .....comadose wrote: ↑Sat Feb 14, 2026 9:18 amFor Pioneer drives try cdrinfo.pl, if you ask nicely they will send you some free firmware that you can flash easily enough.sgtstrife wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 11:49 pmI had a SH216 set up thanks to this forum a few years ago. Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
I can get the drives quite cheap too, around 15-20 Euro sometimes. I didn't realize they were in demand, but next time I'll stock up and sell them on cheaply. I just want people to be able to rip and preserve this media.
I ended up with 3 drives myself. Bought the second one because I forgot to bring the first one on a trip, it was about 10 Euro a couple of years ago. Bought the third one in December because it was USB C and meant one fewer cables to carry with me, for about 15 Euro. Flashed them for free.
They often appear in thrift/second hand stores.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Thanks for posting this Marty. I followed these exact steps and its working for me, glad I came across your post. I did not follow the page 1 steps for the NB52 that show bootloader click and HBD firmware "NB52 to > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with enc > BP50NB40-NB50-1.03MK with bootloader/full flash > BP60NB10 1.00_HBD from Marty download/file.php?id=2143"MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 5:59 amYes, the SVC code is relevant. If SVC NB52 (look at the sticker underneath the drive), follow the steps in the first post (or the gif), substituting BP50NB40 for WP50NB40. I have pasted them below for you.lokat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 3:45 amHello, also new here.
Can't say that flashing is a straightforward process ...
I just got a WP50NB40 ( only drive I could find at my local microcenter )
and after running makeMKV I got the followingI got the All You Need Firmware Pack (MartyMcNuts) packManufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE WP50NB40
Revision: 1.03
Firmware date: 2121-07-08 16:09
Bus encryption flags: 17
LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
and I'm bit confused with the next step
My understanding is that I need to go to
DE_LG_WP50NB40-NB50_1.03_MK.bin
and then to
DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.02-MK.bin
is that the correct assumption ? I did not fully grasp the concept of SVC ( and if it's relevant here )
Any guidance would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance![]()
1. Flash the drive to BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK.
After a successful flash to the MK firmware of the drive do the crossflash:
2. Select the RECOVERY option and in the pop up window (as per the window title text), select the BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK firmware that you just flashed and click OPEN.
3. Select the BP60NB10 1.00-MK or BU40N 1.00 (this is what I recommend) firmware in the normal firmware selection drop box (as per the window title text) then click OPEN.
4. Click START
