Hi, Need help, please.
I think I’ve made a mistake flashing the below Asus SBW-06D2X-U. I flashed with SDFtool Flasher and MK firmware, ‘HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936’. It said it was successful but now the drive just has a flashing green light. Won’t open or read anything. My PC still recognises it. It shows up in explorer and MakeMKV. Shows driver details below. The drive just won’t eject or read. Just flashes green. I think; I’ve either flashed it with the wrong firmware, or, the wrong flasher? OR, both! Because the drive is still recognised. I hope this is fixable? Does anyone know what I should flash it with, and with what flasher, to fix it? It's a slimline Asus drive. I think another forum poster had the same problem, 'Maffo999', on page 21. Hope there was a solution?

It's a slim drive but you flashed it with internal desktop drive firmware. The one thing that the UHD drive flashing guide says not to do!!deano125 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 28, 2026 5:48 pmHi, Need help, please.

Use the RECOVER method of SDFtool flasher, selecting the drive's current firmware in the popup window then choose BU40N 1.03-MK in the normal firmware selection drop down box.
Cheers

Is my drive flashable? I'm quite new to all this, have dvdfab and makemkv. Today I also found taht my drive wouldn't read certain blu ray discs or would give errors halfway through reading. Any ideas on causes? The discs were commercial either region ABC or B. I'm in the UK.

Yeah, it can be flashed. It's a LG drive inside so flash it to BU40N 1.03-MK first, then flash it to BU40N 1.00 to use it with DVDFab.Madball wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 9:21 pmIs my drive flashable? Without you pasting the log window, we dont know the exact errors you are getting but... Clean the disc, even if it look good. 99% of the time this resolves general read errors.
Also ensure the drive is getting enough constant power. Don't use case ports. Use a port direct from the motherboard or an AC self-powered USB hub of at least 24w.
Cheers

Well....I'm absolutely gobsmacked! I gave the seemingly clean discs a good rub with a microfibre cloth and now all ripped ok!MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Wed Feb 04, 2026 12:31 amYeah, it can be flashed.
