Hi - I'm a longtime lurker, but only just registered to be able to post. I'm also a paid registered user of makemkv (after using it for free for many years). I posted my drive info earlier today, but being new, my post was moderated and removed as a duplicate. I don't think I double-posted, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Anyway - I just got a new drive, and the drive info looks exactly like what was posted here, except for the serial number and the Highest AACS version (mine is 82). This seems to be the correct thread to inquire about using this drive with UHD discs. Thanks.
Post your Makemkv info.

i have found a Verbatim 43887 for sale which apparently has one of these drives in it, according to the posts around the place. What is the process for getting these to work ? I see that people dump the drive information and post here and someone sends. PM Sent ? Whats in the PM to make this work?

Hi! I've got a BDR-UD03 and I saw this thread about the possibility of flashing it for UHD-capable stuff. I'd be primarily using it on a Linux Mint machine, but I've currently got it plugged into a Windows 10 computer. I assume flashing it would work regardless of where I plug it in? Here's the information from Makemkv:

Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-UD03
Revision: 1.14
Serial number: DADL518669WL
Firmware date: 2020-06-15
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 81

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8511
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.14
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

To flash you need Windows anyway. So try with a Windows PC or install a VM. VMWare is recommended.
