Is it possible to firmware fix my Pioneer BD-RW BDR-S09 sadly I have the last firmware 1.55, I suspect it won't be able to.

Another Pioneer BDR-209M owner here, this one inside a Buffalo BRXL-16U3.
This drive neither sees nor reads Blu-ray discs.
