I also have one of these and a stack of 4k discs that won't play. I didn't realise this might be an option until I arrived here. Drive info:

I had some difficulty downloading the large file. But after doing a search on the file that wouldn't download, I could pick the file itself (instead of the folder) and it went through.

Sorry to bother, seems a popular question. Is uhd possible for older xd05 never updated? label says mfd September 2014 but drive platform seems to match others here.
