You have to ask Billycar11. My PM was unread for 3 weeks. All unread PMs get deleted after 2 weeks.
I’m new to ripping and was looking to get the mentioned drive as it’s readily available near me. Can this drive be flashed to rip UHD?
You need to post your Makemkv info.

If you're on Windows use the SDFtool Flasher: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896

Hi All,

I've been spending some time trying to get my external drive to work with Blu-ray, but I’ve discovered the current firmware doesn’t seem to expose BD capabilities correctly.

Drive: ASUS SBW-06D2X-U (Buffalo/ASUS external)
Firmware: Revision 1.10 (2017-04-18)
LibreDrive: Possible, not yet enabled
Kernel mapping: sr1 (scsi3-mmc dvd-ram cd/rw), sg1 type 0
USB bridge: Vendor 0411:55aa (BUFFALO INC.), Mass Storage / SCSI Bulk-Only

System: Linux (CachyOS), MakeMKV v1.18.2
Observed behavior: Drive only reports CD/DVD capabilities under cd-info, MakeMKV hangs with "disc info"

I’d appreciate guidance on whether a patched firmware is available for this revision, and if so, how best to proceed with flashing. Thanks in advance!
