Verbatim 43888 no longer reads any discs

Post by MashBasher69 »

about 2 months ago I got into ripping movies for my plex server. It's been going fine until about a week ago when I tried to rip Regular Show The Complete Series. I got through season1-4 fine but then it wouldn't recognise discs 1 and 3 for season 5. After that my drive seemed to stop reading all discs, whether it be ones that worked before or some new ones I got. Does anyone know a fix or is my drive defective?

You could try cleaning the lasers. Very easy to do on the those. Also, sometimes they get themselves confused and need a complete power down for a few minutes and then restart to get them back to normal.
Cheers :D

Hi, thanks for the reply. What is your recommended way of cleaning the laser? I've left the drive completely unplugged over night and that doesn't seem to have done anything.
