BP60NB10 from China

Post by spacecowboy2050 »

Hi everyone - complete Newbie here. I can source a BP60NB10 from China, manufactured in 2020 but I have no idea what fw is on it. Does it matter? Is this one that can be flashed regardless?
Many thanks!

Unfortunately, there is no way to know anything about that drive. I can tell you from experience that re-badged drives are everywhere and there is no way of knowing until you have the drive in your hand. The best way to get a known good drive is to buy it from a trusted seller.

All known BU40N fw will be able to flash as far as it's known.
The question is has the enclosure the original drive in it? It's a used drive or a brand new one (sealed)?

Looking at the picture (I'm not at home yet), it seems that it might be 1.05 on it. Bearing in mind I'm new to this, does that mean it's encrypted? If so, is there anything I can do?

I'm curious if this has been repackaged into a new enclosure.

I actually ordered a BP50NB40 in the end - sorry. But see my other post - I'm having trouble!
