A bit confused by this statement. Does this mean if i buy one of the ones that say "Currently work" it still has to be an old one with prior fw? or do the new ones work regardless

Pioneer UHD drives are now supported more info about that will be coming from the developer and once the info is out i will update stuff here
this is a work in progress PSA now most Pioneers come with new fw that prevents them from be crossflashed or downgraded do not buy one for UHD at this time[/u][/b]
Pioneer Drives need Firmware from before December 2022 firmware after this does not work do not update if you have a working one more on this in the coming weeks if they can be flashed. if your pioneer UHD drive does not work post your makemkv drive info here: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=27378

They have to be old before 12/22 fw but this will change soon

Just wanted to thank the OP and old and new posters alike for all the information, successfully flashed a Buffalo BRXL-PUS6U3B with HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin to enable LibreDrive functionality. Posting it here for the future Google travelers looking for current information.

Cheers everyone.

Hi! I am new to this forum and tried to find answers by digging through this thread, but somehow I am lost.

I downloaded the "All you need package" as well as "mk-firmware-pack-20200720" linked in this thread. But in neither I can find an "MK" version of the firmware I am looking for.

Code: Select all

Drive Information
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: 1.05
Serial number: MOFP4EG0927
Firmware date: 2124-04-23 13:47
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 81

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
I flashed HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.04-NM00500-212005061142.bin out of the "mk-firmware-pack-20200720" package. However, LibreDrive remains "not yet enabled" (flashing completed at 100% without any errors).

Reading through this forum and asking ChatGPT, I understand I need something like "1.04MK" or better "1.03MK" which seems to be the recommended version. However, this "MK" version cannot be found in the packages ... Can anybody help?

I am using an external slim drive in case that should matter.

Thanks, that did the trick!

I stumbled about "add enc" already while studying this thread, but I did not understand what "enc" was. I thought another piece of SW or so ... Now I used Google and now I understand.

To everybody who's in the same situation: It's a parameter that needs to be added to the flashing command.

Once again, thank you very much!
