Hello, I recently bought a blu ray drive and thought it can directly read 4k blu ray disks. It's pretty new, with an usb c port and cost like 100€ on amazon. Yesterday I found out that it can only read normal blu ray disks. Even though it's BDXL compatible which is very disappointing because it's new and not cheap.
So my question is if it's possible to flash the firmware to read 4k disks. I did some research and found that I can try to crossflash from BDR-US03 to BDR-US04. But I cannot find any firmware...

Thank you very much. Crossflashing was straightforward and 4K disks are now readable! I got some issues with playing disks directly via VLC on macOS. I think it's not possible with this drive. But most important is that I don't need to buy another drive even though it's limited to 4x like in the UHD Disk Guide. But I think it's okay.
Is it possible to flash directly in macOS with Apple Silicon? If yes I could create a short manual.
I'm currently experiencing an issue similar to what is described in this post, my drive is unable to read 4K Blu-ray disk. It is the same model as mentioned in this post, but it has a newer firmware version, as I shown below.
