@Coopervid: I do appreciate your invaluable commitment for makemkv and the forum's requests. As a sign of my appreciation and the attitude of not expecting everything for free, I did buy the makemkv SW key. However, I do not and will not have Paypal access. Also, I am not allowed to send private messages. So I seem to be at my limits of showing my gratitude.

Good day,

First time poster.
I see that quite a few other folks have received help with flashing the firmware on their BDR-UD03 to a UHD-compatible variant, and I want to ask if someone would be willing to help.

This is the drive:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-UD03
Revision: 1.14
Firmware date: 2020-06-15
Bus encryption flags: 1B
Highest AACS version: 53

LibreDrive stats as follows:
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8511
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.14
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

I understand the importance of reading/following the tutorial for flashing the firmware to BDR-UD04.

Let me know if someone can help, I’ll be watching my PMs if someone can.

Thank you in advance!

Posted this in the wrong forum, can't delete it there, mods wouldn't let me post here(hopefully goes through this time). Believe I completed a successful flash(crossflash? on what was a UD03?), but now won't read either of 2 rented discs to test, Blu or UHD, will play dvd. Many thanks to Coopervid.

OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Product: BD-RW BDR-UD04
Revision: 1.14
Serial number: NHDL*****WL
Firmware date: 2020-06-15
Bus encryption flags: 1B

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: RS8A10
Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US04
Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
Firmware version: 1.14

Next time please give some information to somebody who answered to you. I found my answer posting alone in the other topic.

My answer here again:

Looks fine.

The discs are clean?

1. give the drive a reboot, better safe than sorry, power off the drive, wait a few seconds and power on
2. let windows do the initialisation without opening MakeMKV, the disc has to shown in the windows explorer
3. open the MakeMKV app and look for recognition with it
